Why did you choose to attend college in general and specifically CCBC? I wanted to expand my knowledge and I chose CCBC because it was close to home and I was eligible for a scholarship.

Describe what was going on in your head the first day of classes. On the first day of classes, I was a little anxious about going to a new school but I found out it wasn’t that bad after all.

Why did you want to blog for the College? I wanted to try something new.

Where would you go and what would you do if you could spend an entire day doing anything you’d like? If I had an entire day to do anything I’d like I would probably go down south to hang out with some of my cousins and catch up with them.

Why did you choose to attend college in general and specifically CCBC?
I wanted to go to college so I could make something of myself. I chose to go to CCBC because I wanted to save money.

Describe what was going on in your head the first day of classes.
I was so nervous my first day. I did not know where to sit because I did not know anyone in a lot of my classes. I was nervous that I wasn’t in the right building or the right room. I was scared that I wouldn’t make any friends.

Why did you want to blog for the College?Blogging is a nice way to get your thoughts out.

Where would you go and what would you do if you could spend an entire day doing anything you’d like? I would go to Children’s Hospital and play with little kids and talk to nurses about their jobs.

Name: Emma

Major: Nursing

Hometown: Fombell, Pennsylvania

High School attended: Riverside Beaver County High School

Why did you choose to attend college in general and specifically CCBC?
I decided to attend college because I want to expand my education as much as I can, while specifically attending CCBC because of the Nursing program and location near my home.

Describe what was going on in your head the first day of classes.
I was very nervous and lost because the campus is larger than my high school, where roughly 100 students graduate a year and you know everyone in your graduating class.

Why did you want to blog for the College?
I want to let other overwhelmed high school seniors or college students know they are not alone and that everyone is just trying to find their place.

Where would you go and what would you do if you could spend an entire day doing anything you’d like?
I would go on a trip to Erie with my boyfriend and dogs to go swimming for the day.

Name: Rachel
Major: Web Programming
Hometown: New Brighton
High School attended: New Brighton Area High School

Describe what was going on in your head the first day of classes. On the first day of classes, I was scared because I didn’t have my textbooks yet. One of my fears is being unprepared, which I most certainly was in that regard. I was also worried that I was going to get a lot of work to complete, which would make balancing work and school difficult. I was wondering if I’d know anyone in any of my classes, and I didn’t.

Why did you want to blog for the College? I’ve always loved writing. As a kid, I wrote short stories, and at the time, I thought they were pretty amazing, even though I had no idea of what “grammar” was. As I got older, I switched to poems and novel ideas. I felt that writing for CCBC would give me an opportunity to put my creative skills to use, as well as share my thoughts publicly about certain things. I think it will help me get involved.

Where would you go and what would you do if you could spend an entire day doing anything you’d like? This is actually a tough question. I never think about stuff like this. I would probably go to the Robinson mall and shop around for awhile, get some food, and then go home and take a nap.

zack

Name: Zackary
Major: Business Administration
Hometown: Hopewell
High School attended: Hopewell High

Why did you choose to attend college in general and specifically CCBC? To obtain the knowledge (and credentials) to hopefully operate my own business ventures at some point.

Describe what was going on in your head the first day of classes. “Wow, I should really buy a planner, huh?”

Why did you want to blog for the College? Simply, I enjoy writing and I enjoy talking about my experiences, and blogging is basically the combined two.

Where would you go and what would you do if you could spend an entire day doing anything you’d like?  Tricky question. Depends on the day, really. If it’s a Thursday, I’d probably just want to stay home and watch Netflix. If it’s say, a Saturday, then I’d probably be ready to travel the world.

Amy – I would like to see how we can get a group of people together who are over 25 and taking classes during the day. Maybe you can use your blog to gather some folks together. I am the sponsor for ANTS and we used to be able to get 5 – 8 people each semester who had lunch together and just support each other. They also did some interesting things for the college – one year they raised money for a book scholarship. Let’s talk.
